Using Vitamin L Songs to Build Character
Janice Nigro, director of the Vitamin L Project
This session will focus on using the joy, fun and power of songs as a tool to support character-building initiatives at the elementary level. The speaker will teach the participants the choruses to several outstanding songs and give classroom activity suggestions to go with them. She will also describe the numerous ways these songs are currently being used in elementary and middle schools. She will be joined by some young people who perform with Vitamin L.
The Vitamin L songs are a great resource for encouraging respect, caring, empathy, conflict resolution, friendship and more. The four Vitamin L recordings have received national awards and are being used in numerous schools across America.
